A/N: Okay, digitaldesigner, I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but this is what came out.
She was going to die.
Dana Scully had thought that she had come to terms with that fact, and on some level she had, but....
She knew Mulder still wasn't prepared to let her go, and that made it harder for her to accept it. She thought of all the times Mulder had showed up just in time to save her life, and didn't know how to convince him that cancer didn't care how well you profiled it.
The door opened. "Good morning," Mulder said coming over to sit by her.
"What are you doing here? You have a hearing."
